Job
description
To perform the
duties of a runner, makeup artist, assistant and script editor in the production
of Reef Live, organised by Tourism and Events Queensland. The aim was
to spotlight the Great Barrier Reef. The result was a 12 hour
continuous live broadcast via a Google hangout, crossing between a
custom built studio at James Cook University (Cairns), a research
boat out on the Great Barrier Reef and guest commentators from around
the world.
My Roles
Makeup Artist to the three presenters and five talent.
Script editor.
Assistant to the
Chief Director (who was unable to leave the control room) ensuring all departments were running smoothly.
Communicating any
unresolvable problems back to the Chief Director.
Assistant to the studio floor manager.
Assisting the
sound recordist, fitting lapel microphones to talent.
Relieving the
autocue operator during meal breaks.
Coordinating and
managing crew meal breaks so that the live broadcast was continuous.
