Radio Program Producer

Job Description
Producing the following programs: Breakfast, Mornings, Afternoon Drive, Country Hour, Rural Report plus special broadcasts. Radio news reporter and newsreader two days a week for 12 months.
ABC Far North Afternoon Drive Program covering local news and current affairs, including talkback on air from 4 to 6pm weekdays. 
ABC Far North Breakfast Program covering local news and current affairs, including talkback on air from 5am to 8am weekdays.
ABC Far North Mornings Program covering local news and current affairs, including talkback on air from 8:30am to 11:30am weekdays.
ABC Far North Rural Report Program covering rural stories, local news and weather, on air from 6:30am till 7am weekdays.
ABC Far North Special Broadcasts including NAIDOC Week and Emergency Broadcasting during Cyclone Ita.

My roles
Finding and researching stories. Breaking stories and investigating story leads. 
Interviewing talent, recording these interviews on location with a portable Morantz, and in the studio using Netia software.
Previewing and editing interviews into radio packages using Netia software.
Arranging live telephone and studio interviews for the presenter.
Screening talkback callers.
Cuing calls to the Duty Weather Forecaster and Traffic Management Centre.
Keeping the presenter abreast of breaking news.
Writing news stories.
Recording and filing news packages and voice-overs from location.
Presenting the daily midday and 5.30pm news bulletins.
My rounds included court and general news.
